(June 23, 2022, Baltimore, MD) – US Wind, Inc. (US Wind) released the following statement in response to today’s announcement from the White House about the launch of a state partnership to expand the offshore wind supply chain:

“President Biden is showing real leadership in developing clean energy for America,” said Jeff Grybowski, CEO of US Wind. “The creation of a Federal-State Offshore Wind Partnership is exactly what our nation needs to create a booming offshore wind industry that will employ many thousands of Americans in new union jobs. Today, I was honored to join senior members of the Biden Administration, Governors from across the East Coast, and my colleagues in industry and labor at the White House.  The discussion about the steps we can take to build out this new industry even faster and bigger left me energized and excited about the prospects for clean American energy.”

Today, the White House joined with 11 governors from up and down the East Coast to launch a new Federal-State Offshore Wind Implementation Partnership that will accelerate the growing offshore wind industry. The partnership will support efforts to provide Americans with cleaner and cheaper energy, create good-paying jobs, and make historic investments in new American energy supply chains, manufacturing, shipbuilding, and servicing.
