Community Liaison Coordinator

Overall Function:

US Wind seeks a contract employee who will act as the company’s primary liaison and proxy in local community affairs throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The Community Liaison Coordinator will assist the US Wind leadership team in establishing and building strong, positive working relationships with various stakeholders that are central to the successful development of their Maryland offshore wind project, “MarWin.”

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with US Wind employees, consultants and vendors to develop a strategic outreach plan;
  • Establish and cultivate meaningful, positive relationships with communities, community leaders and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Lead outreach to the commercial and recreational fishing communities;
  • Guide communication between local fisheries representatives and US Wind;
  • Lead outreach to local environmental organizations;
  • Organize various events and event material, as needed;
  • Participate in internal meetings, conference calls and other forms or company coordination;
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong relationships, deep roots and and current residency on Maryland’s Eastern Shore;
  • Strong understanding of local community dynamics;
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
  • Self-starter – demonstrated ability to work independently and establish clear and measurable objectives;
  • Strong personal communications skills and acumen;
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize a varied workload;
  • Proven ability to create and utilize opportunities to advance the overall goal of the organization and this position;
  • Experience in community relations and stakeholder engagement.
